More math games with our 2nd grade buddies!

During SEL this week, 105 students met up with their 2nd grade buddies to play a fun math game!

5th graders collaborated with 8th graders on a special project for music.  Students created musical instruments out of recycled items.  

Students completed an anticipation guide for our upcoming novel, Among the Hidden, with different opinion statements.  They then met in small groups to discuss whether they agree or disagree with their group mates and try to persuade each other of their opinions.   

A fun twist on annotations!  Students work in partners on an annotation scavenger hunt to find important elements in a nonfiction article by color coding their thinking.  

5th Graders enjoyed some outside time as part of their reward celebration!

During SEL, student's learn more about each other by conducting interviews & creating a poster about their partner.  This is a great way to build community in our classroom!
