Mrs. Khatoon's Bio

Hello Families,

A little about myself, I grew up in India with my parents and three siblings. I have been living in Chicago for the past 13 years. I am married and have three amazing children. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, and making memories with my family.

I pursued my passion of becoming an Early Childhood Educator at Northeastern Illinois University with an endorsement in English as a Second Language. This year will be my Third year teaching at Decatur and I am beyond thrilled to be teaching your student!

As a parent myself, I intimately understand the hopes and dreams you hold for your little ones. With my professional teaching license and a wealth of experience guiding students from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade, I am here to ensure that your child's learning journey is nothing short of amazing.

For me, education is not just about academics, I believe in cultivating a safe and harmonious classroom environment, where their social-emotional growth is nurtured alongside their academic skills.

You are invited to join us for Decatur Classical’s Curriculum Night. You will have a chance to meet your child’s teachers and learn about how we support your child academically and socially. Please see below for details.

What: Decatur Curriculum Night

When: Thursday, September 12th

Parking + Entry: Please park legally in the neighborhood and enter through door 1 (main entrance). 

Schedule: Each session will be offered three times, you are free to drop in to either of the three options. For example, you could attend essentials at 5pm and then the grade level session at 5:30. Sessions are all 25 minutes with 5 minutes for transition.
 

Content: In order to keep sessions engaging, interactive, and focused on classroom learning, we will not address logistics or other school wide issues on curriculum night. We will provide a factsheet in all sessions.

Questions: We ask that you please submit any questions ahead of time here. Depending on the nature of the question, we will either address it on curriculum night or we will email you directly.
