We're officially one month away from FIRST Lego League's City Qualifier (Sat. Dec. 10 @Michele Clark High School). To prepare, we temporarily have the Lego League board set up with this year's Superpowered challenge set. Students in Makerspace learned more about FIRST Lego League and will soon see our teams robots in action. Stay tuned!

2nd graders explored a new design tool in Makerspace -- Keva Planks! They used them to create a tower to hold the weight of an apple. Way to go 2nd grade!
Flashback to Oktoberfest! Way to show 7th grade - Rm. 1013 pride by making fabulous pom-poms!
4th & 5th graders explored creating towers using school supplies (pencils, rubber bands, file folders, etc) to hold the weight of an apple! Stay tuned to see their group designs!
7th & 8th graders couldn't wait to get their hands on Sphero robots! Through trial and error we've figured out our system for checking out robots. Their experimentation will really benefit the rest of the school!
4th graders in Makerspace rallied together to organize Brain Flakes by color in a unique spiral twist! There was so much excitement when they accomplished their goal!
*PRESENTATION TIME* | We're wrapping our initial design challenges in Makerspace! Students have created designs about themselves and have been presenting them in class. K-3 students did an excellent job sharing their work in front of their classmates. Well done!
Welcome back Decatur! Cheers to a great year!
