This week, 2nd graders discussed how to talk about and think about books! We worked with the anchor chart the first part of the week and used a t-chart to organize our thoughts while reading!
The Palmer House Hotel in Chicago has been a big part of the 2nd grade novel, I Survived the Great Chicago Fire, 1871 and we have been learning about it Social Studies too. This second grader and his parents went to take a look at this beautiful historic hotel for themselves last weekend in downtown Chicago. Thank you for sharing your adventure with all of us!
2nd graders have been reading the novel I Survived the Great Chicago Fire, 1871 by Lauren Tarshis. They are doing an AMAZING job understanding the characters in the story and these character trait webs show their creativity too!
The 3rd grade finished their 2nd novel of the year - Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. The students did a great job expressing the feelings they had while reading the novel in these hearts!
