Week 6: Oct. 7-11, 2019

4-6th Grade SS/Writing: simulating trade on the Silk Road, breaking down the Enuma Elish, and exploring personal identity in the context of a community.
Congratulations to our 6th grade students for representing Decatur incredibly well at the Regional Chicago Metro History Fair @ UIC on March 30th.  Four of our outstanding projects are moving forward to the State History Expo in Springfield on May 2nd!
5th graders enjoyed the second part of the field trip to the Oriental Institute Museum.  They analyzed the problem solving skills of ancient innovators from Egypt.
Junior Archaeologists! Students use the scientific method to draw conclusions about which social classes may have used the Egyptian artifacts they uncover at the Oriental Institute Museum.
Hatshepsut took center stage for our Twitter activity in 5th grade. Students highlight her achievements as one of a few female pharaohs in Ancient Egypt.
