Students in class work in different types of groups including both with peers and teacher lead. Ms. Busch is an important part of our classroom as the inclusion teacher and helps all 3rd grade students learn.
Decatur SPIRIT WEEK | October 25th - 29th!
This week we started reading our first novel, Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. The students were so excited to get their books and dove right into reading this fun novel together!
Students in both classes worked hard on their writing in their new draft books and colorful new pens!
Third graders worked on different tasks during Reading Workshop which included watching a video about Pompeii, writing an end of the week reflection, and using VersaTiles to complete a reading puzzle!
Students worked in small groups to create an anchor chart explaining metaphors and gave examples of this figurative language. They did an AMAZING job working together and making sure everyone was involved in the final product!
It's important for students to work in a place where they are comfortable and free from distractions. Students LOVE flexible seating options that allow all to find where they learn and work best!
Anchor charts are an important tool that students use and reference while learning in the classroom. This week the 3rd grade classes helped generate ideas for this anchor chart on THINKING about READING! ❤️ 📚 ❤️
The students finished novel projects this week and did an AMAZING job! These are just a few of the wonderful one that were turned in on Friday.
We all learn together, remote or at school. The second graders have done such an amazing job during this difficult year!
Students took the lead this week modeling sketches and note taking while reading our novel I Survived The Great Chicago Fire, 1871. Thank you to Miss Busch for teaming up with the students and lending her artistic skills to help us out on Thursday and Friday!
