Friday in Science, we practiced making and writing observations as scientists.  We looked at how water interacted with copy paper vs. wax paper.  The students had fun trying to blow the water droplets on the wax paper into one big droplet!  Feel free to try this at home!
Today in 4th grade math we created shapes and sculptures with snap cubes to introduce the idea of volume.  Students were encouraged to compare their creations and put them in order of least volume to greatest.  We had a lot of fun creating, and I really liked seeing what the students came up with!
Students demonstrated positive group work behaviors through an activity where they had to take turns finding the numbers 1-100 in a scrambled list.  During this activity, students:
- Helped each other
- Stayed on task
- Didn't waste time
- Problem solved and communicated strategies
- and more!

Students had a chance to 1) get to know more about each other and 2) participate in a STEM challenge with this activity.  Each group got 20 index cards to try and come up with 20 things they all had in common.  Then with those 20 cards, they tried to create the tallest tower they could.  I saw some great problem solving, goal setting, and teamwork during this activity!
