  Students were given a choice board of "RAFT" assignments to complete, and here are a few highlights. RAFT refers to Role, Audience, Format, Topic.
  For instance, one of the projects is from the Role of the number 0, speaking to an Audience of other numbers, in the Format of a campaign speech/flyer, on the Topic of their "presidency" and how important they are to the number system.

  In our second integrated unit, JMS students tried to tackle problems about water scarcity and some of the world's sewage problems. Students designed and presented their ideas in multiple media, utilizing context, research, and subject related content to inform the decisions on their innovative solutions.

  Latin is a natural language like any other and the 3rd graders are breathing life into it by using Latin sentences to communicate about mythological creatures. This is the first task where they have really started to produce sentences and they did a heroic job meeting the challenge!
