Day of Play in Dance Class!

Our first graders enjoyed a day of play in dance class yesterday! We had a TON of creative fun using squishy balls, ribbons, stuffies, yoga mats, books, spot dots, rainsticks, mindfulness cards, and scarves!

Hungarian Carnival
We learned about the Hungarian Carnival with Bennett's family! Students learned about their traditions, and why they celebrate -- to scare away winter! Students had fun making masks and shakers to scare winter away!

MathCLUB
Students were engaged in a game called "Salute" for the first meeting of MathCLUB. MathCLUB participates in many Math Competitions throughout the school year.

Slaps, Taps & Wraps
We started our basketball unit this week and started practicing our dribbling. One of the drills we did was called Slaps, Taps & Wraps. This drill helps with our hand and wrist strength along with out ball handing skills.

Innovators and advertisers in the making! This is a small sample of 4th-6th graders creating multimedia advertisements for their rain catchers and futuristic toilets. Students worked on integrating rhetorical appeals (logos, pathos, ethos) to create persuasive advertisements.

5th and 1st Grade TEAM up!
5th Graders worked to assist 1st graders in a measurement activity involving standard and non-standard units to measure objects in the classroom. 5th grade is working on unit conversions and 1st grade is learning how to measure!
