5th Grade word analysis

Using Hello Universe, fifth grade created cards of unknown words

The groups were to find their designated word in the text, use context clues to discover it's meaning and then create a skit for the word.

3rd grade teamed up to research tectonic plates and the explore the research scientists have collected to create the Tectonic Plate Theory.

Students annotated each chapter, then created a conflict comic with illustrations and labels. 

3rd grade built and explored simple machines to close out our inventors unit.

Fifth grade has been working on writing about character traits, today they analyzed and defended pieces of writing to build knowledge of essay structure.

Third Grade began our inventors unit in ELA, students were tasked with collaboration to invent a device to move a ping pong ball and then create it.

Today our students met an author! Author Kandace K. Qaiyim wrote and illustrated the book "Boundless Strength, My Hair is My Crown." She talked with out class about the process of creating a story and how she became a published author!
