Secret Reader Week 4!
This week our secret reader had the class giggling with "Bathe The Cat."

This week students began to build an outline to their narratives. Students created a series of events that included some problems, solutions, and how their story began.
Our third secret reader this year! Our class was lucky to be joined by two secret readers today! Our students listened to The Three Questions and The World Needs More Purple People! Thank you for spending time with us today!
SECRET READER ALERT!
Last Friday, we had a secret read join us in class! She read a story all about Vivi exploring the sea! The book was filled with amazing animals facts.

Fall Fest was a hit! Students colored large pictures, created spiderwebs from coffee filters, made stain glass apples, and balanced pumpkin son their heads!
Students listened to each other share personal narratives that were self published!
First Grade students worked on teamwork and communication by building puzzles. They demonstrated different problem solving strategies in order to complete puzzles in a small amount of time.
Students worked on Letters of Kindness to staff members
Students researched plants and animals. They created models demonstrating their defense mechanisms of spikes, spines, shells or armor!
Today we were joined by one of our amazing parents! She came in and taught our class about the Mid Autumn Festival, also known as the moon festival, celebrating Chinese culture! We had a blast learning how Moon cakes were made and how people all over the world celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival.
We also read a story called The Shadow in the Moon! Thank you to our guest presenter today for spending time with us and teaching us about the Chinese culture!
