Students in 6th-8th grade participated in a monthly Community Builder where they played in the snow outside and participated in various other activities of their choosing.

Students in 7th Grade created a poster comparing 2 hypothetical phone companies using systems of linear equations in context.

6th Graders completed a "Stained Glass Window" Project, where they designed a Stained Glass Window, and then calculated the total cost when given prices for various aspects of the window, incorporating circular measurements into their calculations.

Students in 7th/8th grade worked on analyzing Pixel Art mathematically, and then created their own as a fun extension/exploration in class!

Students in 6th and 7th grade did a gallery walk of their poster projects and filled out a reflection form.

Students in 7th grade did a review of Proportional Relationships by choosing a situation to analyze--involving the comparison of 2 proportional relationships using a table, graph and equation.

Their current unit, Linear Relationships, is building on the concept of Proportionality.

Students in 6th grade represented the proportional relationship between water usage and time spent in the shower/bath.  Students were given contextual constraints and had to analyze under what conditions a bath or shower was more efficient.

6th, 7th and 8th graders had their annual Oktoberfest, where homerooms participate in a friendly competition with fun problem-solving and team-building activities.

7th Grade students worked on a final project on Rigid Transformations, completing a Tessellation.

8th Grade went on a field trip to Irons Oaks Forest Preserve, participating in Low Ropes Team-Building activities.

Students in 8th grade worked all week on squares and roots, culminating with an activity as a proof of the Pythagorean Theorem.

Students in 7th grade worked with "Kaleidoscopes," experimenting with Transformations (Reflections, Rotations, Translations) through an online program.
